SEASON 1
When five school children end up in the school basement the fire alarm goes off. Since none of them wants to take responsibility for the alarm, they are given a task as punishment, which they must complete together over the next few weeks.
The first season features Liv and Châu, both grappling with their families for different reasons. Liv likes to do things on her own, especially after dealing with trust issues in her past friendships. Since then, she still finds it challenging to trust others but is determined to change that without revealing too much about herself. On the other hand, Châu experiences the tension between her Vietnamese upbringing and her life outside the home as increasingly challenging. She wonders how she can reconcile these two sides of herself and remain true to herself.
SEASON 2
Boring! Mrs. Huber annoys the music club with Beethoven’s 5th symphony theory. The 6c students want to create something musical. Ms. Huber challenges them to interpret the symphony for a spot on the “Wall of Fame.”
Milli is unsure, while Tom forms a band with his friend Rod. Châu, caught in a misunderstanding, ends up in the band when Tom thinks she’s a keyboard expert. Milli feels it’s stupid since “Chilli” was meant to do a group thing. She wants Châu to tell the truth, but Châu doesn’t want to. Milli realizes Châu has a crush on Tom.
Tom shares a room with his brother since his grandmother’s injury. Milli is mostly alone at home, since her sister moved out.
Châu keeps avoiding rehearsals, and Milli gets frustrated. In the end, Mrs. Huber cancels the competition, but the group shows Ms. Huber who deserves their place on the “Wall of Fame.”

Châu proudly carries her Vietnamese name. She is lively, quick-witted, and popular in class. She is reliable and would stand up for anyone. Châu is a bundle of energy and loves singing passionately. At home, she takes on the role of the quiet and well-behaved daughter, not wanting to cause any trouble for her parents LIEN (34) and HUNG (37). It is important to her parents that she knows the Vietnamese culture especially because she was born here and therefore feels German.
Liv prefers to keep to herself especially in school. With her direct, quick-witted manner and her black clothes, she stands out, earning respect from others from a far. Her mother Hanna recently moved to Brazil leaving her with her father Mirko, who has been quite strange since then. Liv is annoyed by his overbearing protectiveness and struggles herself in making friends and trusting them.
Milli is a carefree tomboy. She takes life lightly, enjoys having fun, and prefers to ignore problems. She would do anything for her best friend Châu. Sometimes she acts a bit too impulsively, like in soccer, where she has a lot of fun. Since first grade, Milli and Châu have been best friends, inseparable like two peas in a pod. They are known as CHILLI, and you can count on them to be an unbeatable duo and stand up for others.
Pit is a kind-hearted soul, absolutely loyal and sensitive. He is always there; he would never run away when things get tough. He struggles to speak up, but when he does, it carries a lot of meaning. With his quiet, unassuming, and sincere nature, he soon finds a friend in Liv. Pit is unusually tall for his age, making it difficult for him to blend in. He is very introverted, which often makes him appear indifferent and uninterested to others. Pit’s father passed away three years ago which left a huge impact on him.
Tom grows up in modest circumstances at home, a fact no one should know. He had to learn early on that hard work is necessary to achieve something. He is determined and self-confident. Outwardly, he embodies the persona of the overachiever, earning a certain reputation and respect within the class. However, Tom can only be 100% himself with his best friend Sunny. To maintain his facade, Tom has become a true professional at making excuses. Tom’s constant companion is his ukulele, his most valuable possession, which he pulls out in quiet moments to play.
The series centres around five sixth-grade students who coincidentally find themselves in the school basement when the fire alarm suddenly goes off. Milli experiences profound loneliness within her family making her friendship with Châu especially meaningful. Meanwhile, Tom who is coming from a disadvantaged background, endeavours to maintain his cheerful persona, while also concealing his hardships.
